  • 1946 ‑ The First Portuguese‑Swiss Medical Conference, with meetings in Geneva, Veivey, Berne, Zurich and Basle, under the presidentship of Prof. H. de Watteville
  • 1947 ‑ First International Congress On Emergency Medicine and Surgery, Lisbon.
  • 1950 ‑ Third Luso‑Spanish Congress of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Represented "Escola Medica de Goa".
  • 1952 ‑ International conference of "Association Internationale de protection a I'Enfance", Bombay. Represented Portuguese India. In the scientific session 'Home Deliveries" was appointed chairperson. My recommendations were accepted in the final report of the Conference.
  • 1955 ‑ Fifth Spanish‑Portuguese Congress of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Seville (Spain)
  • 1957 ‑ Sixth Luso‑Spanish Congress Of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Coimbra. (Portugal).        1
  • 1959 ‑ International Congress Of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Montreal, followed by the Latin‑American Congress of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Mexico.

PAPERS PRESENTED / PUBLISHED

 

·    "Circular total deiscence of the cervix during labour" (only 55 cases reported since 1840). Published by W. Finn in American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology 59, ps. 667, March 1950.

  • "Double uterus or Dydelphic Uterus? A problem of nomenclature". Both papers presented at the Barcelona Congress in 1950, and published in Revista Clinica do Instituto Maternal, Vol. 3, 1950, Lisbon.
  • "Tubal pregnancy at term without rupture ‑ a true case". Paper sent to the Sevilha Congress in 1955 with photocopy and histopathological specimens. World revision by McEllinand Randall, 1955, reported only 45 true cases; mine was the 46th case, and Prof Dexeus‑Font, while presenting the 47th case, quoted my case and also referred to it in his next edition of "Textbook of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, a personally dedicated copy of which was presented to me.
  • "Tratamento precoce dum Corio‑Carcinoma vinculado a um Aborto Molar: cura clinica, 2 anos 6 meses." (Early treatment of a Chorio‑Caricinoma linked to Molar Abortion: clinical cure, 2 years and 6 months after operation. Paper presented at the Coimbra Congress, 1957, with photos and histopathobogical specimens. Diagnosis confirmed by Dr. Ernest Borges and his team of histopathologists, Dr. Sirsat (path) and Dr.Anita Borges (path) of all my cases (altogether 8, of which 4 cured), Dr. Borges later affirmed "At this moment most such cases came to me from you, in Goa."
  • "Internal haemorrhage due to rupture of Graffs Follicle. A pre‑operative diagnosis." (Confirmed later by Prof, Emil Novak). Case presented at the Scientific session of the Escola Medica de Goa, 1952.
  • "Problems of emergency in Obstetrics: the Uterine Rupture." 3 cases operated without mortality. Paper presented to the 3rd Scientific Session of the Escola Medica de Goa, 1952. Published in "Arquivo da Escola Medica‑Cirurgica de Goa, serie A, N. 24, of 195 1.
  • Breve Meditacao clinica sobre um caso de Aborto Tubario direito e Quisto do Ovario Esquerdo." Published in "Boletim General de Medicina", Serie 2, N. 12, 1958.
  • "Gravidez Intersticial e alguns problemas co‑relacionados com a implantacao ovular viciosa. " (Interstitial Pregnancy and some problems linked to ectopic implantation of the ovum). Presented to the 4th Scientific Session of the Escola Medica de Goa, 1952:
  • "Rare case of intact Amniotic Sac of 2‑month ovum, developed in the muscular lateral wall of the uterus." Photo and specimen in my department museum with printed booklet.
  • "Three cases of primary Abdominal Pregnancy" confirmed before operation by Utero‑Salpingography and Abdominal X‑Ray. Operated safely. Presented to the Scientific Session of the Escola Medica de Goa, 1964.
  • "More than 400 Caesarean operation without mortality, with 6% incidence of total number of patients, while in India it increased to 13%. Comments during the Scientific Session and conference of Dr. (Mrs.) Juliet de Souza (FRCS), Goa Medical College, on above subject 1963‑1964.
