Dislem mhaka sopnant tum                                  Ontem à noite vi em sonho

Kalchê rati, kalchê rati,                                        O teu rosto tão risonho!

Tujeam onttanr aslo môg                                      Nos teus lábios o amor,

Ani mathear onvllam fanti;                                    Qual jardim todo em flor!

Chandnea porim hansun-hansot                            Acercaste-te de mim

Ailem tum mhojê lagim                                         E cheiravas a jasmim;

Ani, nodrêk lavun nodor,                                       Sorridente como a lua,

Sanglem tuvem: hanv tujim!                                  Disseste: “sou sempre tua!”

Suria mathear  asa  tonv’vêr                                 Serei só tua

Hanv tujinch, mhojea moga!                                 Enquanto o sol ainda paire!

Hanv tujinch, hanv tujinch,                                   Serei só tua

Doria zonv’vêr gazta hanga!                                 Enquanto o mar ainda brade!”

Ugte kele dolle                                                   Abrindo os olhos,

Ani sopon gelem virun;                                        Vi que era sonho e lamentei;

Dhamptam dolle,                                                Fechei os olhos,

Sukh mhojem punnun iena firun!                          Quis que voltasses, por ti chorei!

ManoharRai SarDessai (1966)                       Tradução livre de Joaquim Loiola Pereira (2006)

Nota: O poema concani  foi escrito  para a melodia de  “Tudo isto é Fado”  e estreado por José Velho Pereira em Karwar (Estado de Karnataka, Índia), em Janeiro de 1966.

                A tradução  supra (2006)  foi feita com a mesma  melodia na mente.
