Goa Media Watch:

Democracy is best defined as Government of the people, for the people and by the people.

It follows then that ALL decisions about a people and place are taken by the people. It also follows that ALL major decisions are taken ONLY AFTER adequate consultation with the people.

If the people are appropriately informed, and the majority agree, INFORMED CONSENT of the people would then have been obtained. (Informed Consent may also be obtained by campaigning on certain issues. e.g. IF the Rane Congress Government had campaigned to be re-elected on the platform that they would hand over Anjediva  to the Indian Navy, the Rane Government's decision to hand over Goa's Anjediva to the Indian Navy - would have been agreed to,  by way of informed consent. BUT....it wasn't..!)

In most non-major matters, decisions are taken by elected and SALARIED representatives of the people. These decisions are best taken after an open debate in the People's House (Parliament) with adequate discussion in the Press.

Hence, it is very important that the Press be kept on its toes. and Keep track of what the Goa Media is telling us:  Revision, fact, fiction, whitewash, brainwash, or agenda-based masala.
