There are
certain Goans who really live peacefully,
teach good manners to their children, enlighten the
minds of others who follow the wrong path, go to
worship everyday, join charismatic groups, do lot of
social service, work for the unity of Goans, contribute
their generous service to religious and charitable &
social institutes.
However, there are others who misuse the authority,
do not intervene in time to settle the issues and
consequently, make the innocent Goans victims and
scapegoats.
I must not disregard the work of missionaries
especially in the educational field. Most of the
Catholic Goans are educated thru’ their schools.
They generate teaching as well as non-teaching jobs.
Some clergymen are good academicians and intellectual.
Some are very dedicated to their duties and devote
most of their time for the overall development of the
students. They preach God’s doctrine and if we put
it into practice one will surely get reformed and will
refrain from any evils.
They are citizens first and then priests, their right
of speech should not be suppressed. Some vested
interests try to restrain them so that they can keep
the people in dark and make hay before the sun shines.
If we really find priests/nuns misleading the people,
we can bring to the notice of their superiors , but it
is unfair to take the law in our hands to deal with
them .
Nowadays we can hear the attack on nuns, if we
personally visit some orphanages run by them, one can
realize their service towards humanity. Are we ready
to nurse lepers ? Are we ready to pick up illegitimate
children whose parents abandoned them on the street
or in the gutter and who are left begging for their meals ?
This can be witnessed in other states. Nuns are adopting
and taking care of them. What is the reward for these nuns?
Some are accusing and even murdering them.
Goa has created Heaven and Earth, Adam and Eve, but He
did not create caste system. He created man from the dust
and after death, the man will turn back to dust. Those who show
discrimination & inequality will have no salvation.
