Sold by Arab traders as slaves to Indian Princes,  bought by Portuguese colonialists and transported to Goa as slaves, these hapless Africans remain at the very fringes of  Indian society.

Virtually cut off from their roots, they still cling on to fragments of their African traditions. They are truly the Lost Africans of India
